Spicer Brothers opened it's doors on April 28th, 1988 with only two employees and a humble display of fresh produce. 22 years later, you can still find us in the same location with the same goal in mind; to provide the neighborhood with an incredible fresh produce resource with a smile on our face.
Of course, we wouldn't be where we are today without such amazing loyal customers and the many blessings of God. You can see the evidence of this daily as mothers who used to come in as toddlers with their parents are now bringing in another generation of little shoppers! We're glad to be a part of promoting healthy and nutritious eating for kids of all ages.
1n 1996, we experienced firsthand the support of the community and the grace of God when the Abernathy Creek overflowed. Before the water started coming in the doors, a local church community assisted us in removing all the produce from the building. The water reached 4 feet inside Spicer Brothers, but through the help of the neighborhood, damage was minimal. When the water receded, we were the first business in the flood plane to reopen. The support from the people of Oregon City and neighboring cities helped us through this time and have continued supporting us since.
When you shop at Spicer Brothers, you're buying more than produce. You're supporting a local business that has been a part of the neighborhood for over two decades, and you're becoming a part of the community. We would love to have you.
